Common Application System (CAS)
Mungret Community College is part of the Limerick Area Post-Primary Schools Common Application System. The Common Application System (CAS) is the system that manages the application of students to the seventeen participating schools in the Limerick area. This system is carried out in conjunction with the Limerick Education Support Centre (LESC). The aim of CAS is to “assist and support the parents/guardians of children seeking a place in 1st Year in one of the 17 CAS post- primary schools in Limerick City and environs.”
Admissions Process for September 2026
Parents/Guardians of students seeking to apply are kindly asked to use the online CAS portal, linked below. You will be required to input information about your child as well as information related to current schools of siblings if applicable. Applicants must rank their list of preferred schools from 1 to 11. This is a requirement under the Common Application System.
Please note:
Parents/Guardians can make edits to their application up until the deadline. The application process is managed by the Limerick Education Support Centre.
If your child does not receive their school of 1st choice, the application form will be shared with schools 2-11, as required, in the order of preference.

Parents/Guardians will be required to produce two original pieces of documentation to complete the application as proof of address (see recommended list below). This documentation cannot be more than three months old.
• Utility Bill - Electricity/Phone/Gas/Cable Television/Broadband Provider. • Correspondence from an insurance company regarding an insurance policy. • Original Statement from Bank/Building Society/Credit Union • Letter from Department of Social Protection/Revenue • Other official correspondence from an Irish state agency.
