The 1st year girls’ football team played their very first game of the year in extremely wet and challenging conditions. The match took place in Doon, where we faced Scoil na Tríonóide Naofa in the opening game of the 1st year competition.

Despite the heavy rain and difficult pitch conditions, the girls showed great determination, teamwork, and spirit throughout the game. Although we were unlucky to come away with a loss, the performance was very encouraging. Several girls played their first-ever game of football, and they should be very proud of how well they did on the day.

The effort, enthusiasm, and resilience shown by the entire team was excellent, especially considering it was their first competitive match. After the game, we were kindly treated to tea by the host school, which was very welcome and helped everyone warm up after a tough but enjoyable match

Our Junior girls were unlucky to lose out by 2 points in their opening match, but had a fantastic win in Kanturk that came right down to the last few minutes. The girls will we out again after midterm in their final group match.
