LCETB Partnership - Culinary Arts and Barista, Taster Courses and
Over the past number of years we had the privilege of working with Limerick Hospitality Education & Training Centre in their Roxborough campus. Through this partnership our students had the opportunity to work with their highly skilled staff and gained a broader insight into these real world experiences. These courses encompass the essence of transition year teaching students life skills.
We have been lucky enough to have students make the final of the LCETB Shannon Regional Young Chef of the Year Awards in consecutive years. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their culinary and creative abilities.
This year was the turn of TY student Ciaran Geary to shine, winning 1st in this prestigious competition.
Former participant Katie Keogh has continued her culinary winning first place in the senior category in the Health Home Chefs All-Ireland Cookery Competition 2025.
FETAC Tasters
TY students have benefited from the availability of a taster series through LCETB FETAC. The variety of these courses appeals to a broad range of students giving them first hand training and information around training and careers in these areas.
