We have had a great term so far with Hockey in Mungret. Each Wednesday, we train at Catholic Institute Athletic Club after school, with our coach, Emilie.
Our first years took part in a first blitz in Crescent Comprehensive; playing against teams from Crescent, Laurel Hill and Villers. For some of our players, this was their first time playing a hockey match. The girls had a great day out.
Our Junior team played a match against Crescent Comprehensive. It was a very competitive game in very poor weather conditions, but we were all delighted to come away with a 1-0 win.
Hockey is off to a fabulous start for the 2025/2026 academic year. We have seen up to 40 students attending training on Wednesdays after school in Catholic Institute. Big thank you to coach Emilie for providing the girls with super encouragement and challenging drills.
2023/2024
Our weekly training sessions every Tuesday in Catholic institute have proved to be a triump as our Hockey Ladies are striving throughout this season. Our first years have quickly adapted to the team and have successfully participated in Blitz and multiple challenge matches.
Our Minor team (2nd Years) have successfully won two league games, drawn two with two games remaining to play. Our Junior team (3rd years) are sitting with all league games completed and have accumulated 6 points on the league table with their cup quarter final game still to play.
Our Senior team (4th/5th years) have played 4 league games with a remaining 2 to play. There is great numbers at training this year and a phenomenal team spirit across every year. Amazing work from our Hockey Ladies. Well done all.
